We often are asked if we provide compensation for air travel. While we realize that flights are ever-increasing in cost and that it is expensive for teachers to make their way to Vietnam, there is simply no way that the school can afford to pay for it. While teachers are required to pay their own airfare, ILA does offer a 750 US relocation bonus paid at the beginning of the contract. This money is to cover accommodation for the first month and to go towards health insurance if desired.

New teachers upon arrival will get a weeks accommodation paid by ILA in a guesthouse of their choice. After that accommodation is up to the individual teacher. They usually they stay in the guesthouse for about a month and then they find a shared house with some other teachers. ILA employs a Teacher Welfare Coordinator who will help find housing agents and organize housing as much as possible.
