When you undertake your CELTA at ILA you will join a world-class teaching organisation, with a strong focus on academic quality and teacher development. You will study in a large, purpose built training centre, equipped with the very latest teaching and learning resources.

The 4-week course is intensive, and requires a full-time commitment. Seminars, workshops and observation of experienced teachers take up roughly half the contact time. Teaching practice takes up the other half, and is conducted in small groups with a tutor. Teaching practice includes guided preparation of the lesson to be taught, and classroom teaching practice followed by analysis, reflection and feedback.

Completion of lesson planning, the four set written assignments and the portfolio of course work take place outside course contact time. Individual and group tutorials are held to monitor and discuss progress.

It's a tough 4 weeks but the majority of the trainees come out of the course feeling positive about their teaching, having enjoyed themselves, and having made many new friends.
