Super English is owned and run by Peter C. Meltzer and his wife, Jaksanee (Jeab) Suteeisariyakun. They opened the school on September 7th, 2004. Peter is from Virginia and is the director of the school. He also teaches a great deal of hours, so there is no gap between management and teachers. Jeab is from Surat Thani and handles the financial, as well as bureaucratic, aspects of the school.

Smart Language School is based in the city of Surat Thani, in Southern Thailand. Surat Thani is believed to have been an important center of the Sumatra-based Srivijaya Empire in the 9th and 10th centuries. Today, it's known to foreigners as the gateway to beautiful Koh Samui and to Thais as a rich agricultural province.

Peter decided to open Super English after teaching at several language schools throughout Thailand. In his experience, teachers are often held back from achieving their full teaching potential (and also having fun) by boring textbooks, large amounts of paperwork, and a lack of recognition and support from the school administration. Super English was created to provide a school where teachers would not feel restrained but instead be empowered and encouraged by the school to use their creativity and energy only in the best possible way: teaching the students. Basing everything we do on that principle, Super English is constantly striving to be the best school for teachers and students.
